San Francisco, CA THE FILMMAKER (USA 2018), JP Allen’s powerful mystery about stolen identity makes its Theatrical Premiere on November 2 at The Presidio Theater (2340 Chestnut Street).

An isolated photographer returns home to find his apartment ransacked, his credit accounts compromised, and a bizarre recording waiting on his computer.  Soon, he receives an anonymous phone call from a young woman seeking his help in committing a crime of revenge.  This layered story weaves themes of identity, intimate secrets, and the shifting meaning of the past. 

Shot on location in San Francisco and Las Vegas, THE FILMMAKER, a truly independent San Francisco film, features Bay Area actors JP Allen and Ashley Rain Turner, together with Canadian actor Rebecca deBoer.  The film showcases exciting local music by The Highway Poets as well as music by Jesca Hoop, Blue Tofu, Jordann Mitchell and Shoulders.
